Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
Robo Studio ("we", "us") is a browser-based robot design and simulation platform at robostudio.app. This policy explains what data we handle and why.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, email address and authentication state, managed by our sign-in provider Clerk. We never see or store your password.
- Billing data — subscriptions are processed by Clerk Billing and its payment processor. We do not store card numbers; we store only your subscription tier.
- Project data — robot models and workspace files you create. Free-tier projects are stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB). Cloud-instance workspaces are stored on encrypted AWS EFS volumes in the us-east-1 region and are deleted when you delete the instance.
- Service records — cloud instance metadata, compute-credit usage and operational events (e.g. "instance resumed", error reports), stored in our Postgres database. These exist to run the service, bill accurately and diagnose failures.
- Usage analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless page analytics via Vercel Analytics. No advertising trackers, no data sale, no cross-site tracking.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies: Clerk session cookies that keep you signed in. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies, which is why there is no cookie consent banner.
Where your data lives
Hosting and web infrastructure: Vercel. Database: Supabase (Postgres). Cloud robot instances: AWS Fargate and EFS (us-east-1). Authentication and billing: Clerk.
Your rights
You can export your projects at any time (Save project / Export). Deleting a cloud instance permanently deletes its workspace volume. To delete your account and associated data, or to exercise any data-protection right (access, rectification, erasure, portability), contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Data retention
Account and service records are kept while your account is active. Operational event logs are kept for diagnostics and are periodically pruned. Deleted instance workspaces are not recoverable.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
